Many medications, vaccines, and diagnostic materials are susceptible to degradation due to moisture, oxygen, or light exposure. High barrier plastics such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC), and multilayer laminates are employed to create blister packs, pouches, bottles, and ampoules that provide the necessary protection. Maintaining a controlled packaging environment is vital for regulatory compliance, as well as for safeguarding the health of patients. Additionally, high barrier packaging enables longer product shelf life, reducing losses due to expired medications and ensuring that life-saving drugs remain effective throughout distribution and storage periods.
